The most fascinating woman you've never heard of: Queen Soraya Tarzi. As Afghanistan's first Queen Consort, she reigned from 1919-1929, and was instrumental in introducing transformation to her beloved country. She was a champion of women's rights, equal access to education and general societal reforms.

We'll take a look at this magnificent woman and her role as confidant to her husband the King. We'll also talk about how her efforts impact our world today.

AND we'll be making this piece together. The pink opal pendant is hand made by the Pashtun tribe of Afghanistan, the same people of Queen Tarzi's origins, as well as another very famous Afghani shero, Malala Yousafzai.
