Darling Sophanista, welcome to Wanderlust Spain.
Malaga: Museo de Arte y Costumbres Populares: which means the museum of art and customs of Spain, from the countryside to urban. This museum was filled with objects and systems that shaped Spain over her long history- so many varied exhibits taught me so much, but there was a display of books from the 19th and 20th centuries that struck me as particularly iconic. When I was a child and thought of Spain (what little I knew of it) I would conjure these very images in my head... I think of how we take small elements of whole cultures and base our opinions of those cultures from such tiny samples. I decided I wanted to add an iconic factor for this collection: the bull.
From the clicks on the cobblestones, the aromas of paella, to the swirls of Moorish castles and the OLÈ of Flamenco dancers… YOU were on this Spanish adventure with me, darling Sophanista. This collection gathers elements of Malaga and Seville, from jaw dropping antique stores, quiet street vendors, and pieces that remind us of that magnificent adventure.
