She Boogied at Mister Kelly's: opal, ruby, turquoise mosaic ring

Part of our Bejeweled Stories series: to make this collection come alive, I wrote the short story, "Tiny Things," about mothers, daughters, birthdays, and memories. This jewel is based on the giant mural of Muddy Waters on State Street in Chicago, the father of Chicago Blues- seen from the window of the Walnut Room in Macy's.

In 1971, Muddy Waters recorded live in the Chicago nightclub Mister Kelly's. The album was a turning point in his career, broadening his audience. I would've loved to have witnessed this great artist, wearing this ring of course.
